The portraits of Zimbabwe have been brought about through the support of the U.S. Embassy. The exhibit will be jointly curated by Jennifer Kyker, who holds dual positions as an associate professor of ethnomusicology at the Eastman School of Music and as an associate professor of music in the College Music Department at the University of Rochester, along with Fadzai Muchemwa, the curator of contemporary art at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. PM Attends Groundbreaking Ceremony for $1.5B Trump Organization Project in Northern Vietnam

On Wednesday, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh participated in the ground-breaking ceremony for a $1.5 billion urban and eco-tourism development in Hung Yen province. This marks the inaugural project of the Trump Organization in Vietnam.

The Trump International Hung Yen project will cover more than 990 hectares alongside the Red River, encompassing seven villages in Khoai Chau District.

The project includes four subzones - an eco-residential area linked with a luxury golf course for 3,500 residents; another eco-residential area with an ecological golf course for 1,800 residents; a commercial and service urban zone for 29,700 residents; and green spaces with themed parks.

The project, which has an estimated investment of around VND40 trillion ($1.5 billion), is set to be completed by the second quarter of 2029 and will run under a 50-year operating license. The primary objective is to fully harness the potential of this zone, particularly through leveraging the Red River tourist route linking Hung Yen with Hanoi and surrounding areas in the north.

The Trump International Hung Yen represents a significant step demonstrating Vietnam’s increasing prominence on the world stage within the realm of upscale real estate and resorts. This initiative serves as an indicator of international investors' trust in Vietnam’s potential for sustained growth, particularly in premium properties. As such, this venture stands out as a emblematic representation of Hung Yen and Vietnam’s aspirations and incorporation into the contemporary era.

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Chinh highlighted that the commencement of the urban and eco-tourism project signifies the trust placed in Vietnam by international investors, notably those from America. This includes several prominent U.S. corporations like Intel, Nike, Apple, Boeing, and Nvidia, which have increased their investment activities within the nation.

While helping boost Hung Yen's growth, the project is expected to elevate the province’s international brand, and bring advanced management technologies and employment opportunities to local communities – while also contributing to the strong Vietnam–U.S. relationship, said the PM.

The government head instructed various ministries and relevant organizations to assist Hung Yen province and the investors in ensuring the prompt conclusion of the project, with an aim to complete it within approximately two years, coinciding with the APEC 2027 Economic Leaders’ Week in Vietnam. This initiative is anticipated to enhance Hung Yen’s services industry and strengthen the pragmatic cooperation between Vietnam and the U.S.

He pointed out U.S. President Donald Trump’s two trips to Vietnam during his initial tenure, both of which were enthusiastically received by the Vietnamese populace. These visits underscored the amicable sentiments and significant strategic value of Vietnam-U.S. ties, contributing positively to peace, stability, and progress within the region and globally.

Recognizing that the groundbreaking marks only the start and that obstacles still lie ahead regarding land clearance and construction, Prime Minister Chinh encouraged all parties involved to collaborate closely to maintain high standards and momentum. He also stressed the importance of promptly overcoming any impediments that arise.

The Prime Minister thanked the local inhabitants who relinquished their land for the project and encouraged them to keep backing the endeavor. Additionally, he implored the local officials and the financiers to guarantee that the community’s well-being is safeguarded and that the relocated settlements offer better standards of living.

Prime Minister Chinh commended Hung Yen—historically recognized as Pho Hien—as a modest province endowed with remarkable resilience and rich cultural heritage and revolutionary honor. It was once the second most vibrant commercial hub after the capital city. He voiced his confidence that Hung Yen would leverage its historical significance to drive substantial advancements across all fields, contributing to the country’s ascension into a new epoch—the age of national resurgence—as articulated by Party General Secretary To Lam.

He voiced his confidence that with strong support of the local authorities and great efforts of the investors, the project will be completed in a record time, bringing long-term benefits to all parties and the people of the two countries, and contributing to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

Dang Thanh Tam, Chairman of the Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation, pledged that Vietnamese contractors and partners would promptly carry out the project and ensure its progress and quality, so that it could be handed over to the Trump Organization for management and operation within two years.

Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization, said Vietnam is currently one of the most dynamic and promising markets globally.

The Trump Organization is proud to bring its legacy to a country with a vision, vitality, and rapid growth, he said, emphasizing that this is not just a landmark project but also a commitment to excellence, a tribute to culture, and a lasting contribution to Vietnam’s future.

Chairman of the Hung Yen provincial People’s Committee Tran Quoc Van welcomed the Trump Organisation’s investment, affirming the province's commitment to facilitating land clearance, supporting administrative procedures, and working closely with the investors to swiftly resolve any issues that arise during the implementation of the project.
