... We Value His Contributions, LEMU President

During an enthusiastic farewell dinner celebrating him, the newly appointed President of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Kazeem SAN, shared his vision for updating the society’s communication methods with a focus on attracting young members.

The banquet organized by the Lekki Muslim Ummah (LEMU) took place on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Admiral Ayinla Hall in Lekki, Lagos. It gathered prominent Muslim figures, supporters, colleagues, and members of the organization to honor Kazeem for his leadership role within one of Nigeria’s most established Islamic groups.

Alhaji Kazeem, who previously served as the Chairman of the LEMU Group of Schools, articulated his concept for a digital Ansar-Ud-Deen that connects with young Muslims adapting to contemporary life via smartphone technology.

“Many young individuals conduct virtually all their transactions through their phones. Do you have Ansar-Ud-Deen on yours?”he questioned, addressing Muslim News.

So, if you take out your phone and navigate to the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, and find an Ansar-Ud-Deen application that provides comprehensive information about the organization’s role in various aspects of life, wouldn’t that make a significant difference? This could greatly assist many young individuals seeking guidance.

Alhaji Kazeem likewise highlighted that his government would ensure they do not overlook senior citizens; instead, they aim to build a society that is comprehensive and attentive, catering to individuals of every generation.

“Part of the work of Ansar- Ud-Deen Society as an Islamic organisation is missionary. It is supposed to evangelise, and also help people socially, and when they are in need,” he said.

“Many individuals lack spiritual direction; they require assistance. Our aim is to revive Ansar-Ud-Deen so that people feel comfortable entering mosques, contacting Imams, and seeking guidance from community members for their everyday challenges.”

To express their appreciation, LEMU organized a dinner to honor Alhaji Kazeem’s service and his dedicated efforts for the organization. Emotionally touched by the praise he received, the newly appointed President of Ansaru-D-Deen stated:

I wasn't anticipating such extensive praise today because the actions I took during my time here felt natural to me. I simply believed it was the right thing to do.

He thanked the LEMU leadership and members for their support and encouragement over the years.

The president of LEMU, Alhaji AbdulGaniy Labinjo, reiterated the organization's confidence in Kazeem's capability to guide them nationally, highlighting his honesty, kindness, and determination.

"Given his leadership skills, humility, and clear sense of direction, we have no doubt that he will excel at Ansar-Ud-Deen," Labinjo stated.

It's a significant responsibility, but based on our knowledge of him and with Allah's support, we trust that he will excel and elevate Ansar-Ud-Deen to new heights.

Labinjo characterized Kazeem as a transformative leader who played a key role in restructuring LEMU throughout his three years of service.

He is an excellent individual, a dedicated Muslim, who has shown remarkable ethical leadership. He is exceptionally generous and highly resourceful. We value his contributions.

He likewise voiced his optimism that the incoming President will elevate the quality of Islamic outreach and education, particularly since the community has established a university.

Outstanding Loan Retrieved, Reports Head Missionary

To add a lighthearted element to the event, Sheikh AbdurRahman Ahmad, who leads the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society as the Chief Missioner, mentioned that Kazeem’s guidance of LEMU was a short-term assignment from their parent organization.

"What an outstanding loan he has turned out to be! Although he was only on secondment, Ansar-Ud-Deen has decided to bring him back," he remarked, eliciting laughter and applause.

“Many of you present are also temporary residents. When the right moment arrives, we will call you back. May Allah (SWT) grant us all plentiful rewards."

Sheikh Ahmad likewise sought blessings for Kazeem’s success, the ongoing development of LEMU, and prosperity for all Muslims worldwide.

The gathering included notable individuals such as Dr. Abdul Ganiy Labinjo, who serves as the president of LEMU; Alhaji Yunus Salisu, a member of the Board of Trustees at LEMU; Dr. Ridwan Jamiu, the head prayer leader at Lekki Central Mosque; Alhaja Muinat Shopeyin, also a trustee board member for LEMU; along with various other participants from within the LEMU community.

At dinner time, honors were bestowed upon Kazeem by distinguished guests such as Dr. Kamoru Omotosho, the ex-President of LEMU; Imam Nojeem Jimoh from the Lighthouse Mosque; Professor Fatimah Biade Abdulkareem; Ustaz Mustapha Jamiu, who oversees LEMU’s educational institutions, and Ustaz Abdulhakeem B. Isioye, the principal of Lekki Qur'an Memorization College.
