National Gallery of Zimbabwe Set to Showcase 80 Photographic Masterpieces

Starting May 30, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe will host "Portraits of Zimbabwe," an exhibit featuring more than 80 photographic prints by the late photographer Chicago Dzviti. The portraits of Zimbabwe have been brought about through the support of the U.S. Embassy. The exhibit will be jointly curated by Jennifer Kyker, who holds dual positions as an associate professor of ethnomusicology at the Eastman School of Music and as an associate professor of music in the College Music Department at the University of Rochester, along with Fadzai Muchemwa, the curator of contemporary art at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. Dzviti was born in Shamva in 1961, and from this rustic background, he cultivated an interest in photography. He further honed his skills at Harare Polytechnic starting in 1987. China Intensifies Military Moves Around Taiwan: Global Watch

Taipei [Taiwan], April 3 (ANI): As of 6 am local time, the Taiwanese Ministry of Defense reported detecting 59 Chinese airplanes, 23 Chinese navy vessels, and eight official ships near Taiwan.

Out of the 59 planes, 31 missions flew across the median line and penetrated Taiwan's northern, central, western, and eastern Air Defense Identification Zones (ADIZ).

On a post on X, the Ministry of National Defense stated, “Up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today, we identified 59 Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force planes, 23 People's Liberation Navy vessels, and 8 government ships operating near Taiwan. Among these, 31 sorties crossed the median line and penetrated into Taiwan’s northern, central, southwestern, and eastern air defense identification zones. We continuously tracked this activity and took appropriate actions.”
