National Gallery of Zimbabwe Set to Showcase 80 Photographic Masterpieces

Starting May 30, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe will host "Portraits of Zimbabwe," an exhibit featuring more than 80 photographic prints by the late photographer Chicago Dzviti. The portraits of Zimbabwe have been brought about through the support of the U.S. Embassy. Wings Hauser, the versatile supporting actor famous for his performances in "Vice Squad," "The Young and the Restless," and numerous other movies and TV series, passed away on March 15 in Los Angeles due to natural causes. The post from his spouse on Wings Hauser’s Facebook page read, “This past weekend, movie legend Wings Hauser soared with his collaborator in both film and music, Cali Lili Hauser, at their studio.” The message continued, “Throughout his unparalleled 58-year career encompassing cinema, television, and music, Wings worked closely with numerous top talents in the field and garnered their admiration.”

Born as Gerald Dwight Hauser in Hollywood, he came from a family with parents named Geraldine and Dwight Hauser. Throughout his career, he took part in various film and TV productions, starting off with an unnamed character in the 1967 war movie "First to Fight." Later, he appeared in popular series such as "Magnum, P.I.," "The Fall Guy," "Murder, She Wrote," "Perry Mason," "Roseanne," "Beverly Hills 90210," "Kingpin," "Bones," and "Criminal Minds."

Hauser portrayed the character of Greg Foster in the enduring daytime drama "The Young and the Restless," appearing across more than 15 episodes. He assumed the part following James Houghton and Brian Kern, who initially took on the role. Hauser made his debut appearance on the series in 1977 and later returned for an additional three episodes in 2010.

Hauser gained recognition primarily for playing Ramrod in the 1982 film "Vice Squad" with Gary Swanson, and later portrayed a tobacco attorney in the 1999 movie "The Insider," co-starring Al Pacino and Russell Crowe. Throughout his career, Hauser has been featured in movies like "Rubber" and "Tough Guys Don’t Dance,” where he received an Independent Spirit Award nod for his supporting part. More recently, his acting credits include appearing in an episode of "Criminal Minds” from 2010.

Cali Hauser stated, “We grew up together, playing life daily alongside music and songwriting sessions geared towards multiple forthcoming albums, books, and an exciting film project featuring an exclusive soundtrack similar to our latest accolade-winning production 'Eve N’ God: This Female Is Not Yet Rated.' He expressed that I was his destiny, and despite being a staunch feminist, I discovered my ideal match within him. I felt both joy and pride collaborating with him. It wasn’t until meeting Wings that marriage or partnership seemed possible. Although circumstances are challenging now, I intend to honor his desire for me to carry forward the initiatives we planned over the coming years.”

Dwight Hauser, Hauser's father, was a writer who facedblacklisting during the communist period and authored content for "The Magical World of Disney." Later, his child, Cole Hauser, took on the role of Rip Wheeler in "Yellowstone," playing the ranch’s troubleshooter and son-in-law to John Dutton portrayed by Kevin Costner.
