National Gallery of Zimbabwe Set to Showcase 80 Photographic Masterpieces

Starting May 30, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe will host "Portraits of Zimbabwe," an exhibit featuring more than 80 photographic prints by the late photographer Chicago Dzviti. The portraits of Zimbabwe have been brought about through the support of the U.S. Embassy. The exhibit will be jointly curated by Jennifer Kyker, who holds dual positions as an associate professor of ethnomusicology at the Eastman School of Music and as an associate professor of music in the College Music Department at the University of Rochester, along with Fadzai Muchemwa, the curator of contemporary art at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. Dzviti was born in Shamva in 1961, and from this rustic background, he cultivated an interest in photography. He further honed his skills at Harare Polytechnic starting in 1987. Top 10: Vietnam’s Second Most Stunning Island Sparks Search Surge During Hung Kings' Festival

Phu Quoc Island, located in southern Vietnam, ranked among the top ten most sought-after travel destinations in the country leading up to the Hung Kings' Festival in early April, as reported by the travel agency Booking.com.

Da Nang took the top spot in the rankings, with Dalat and Nha Trang following closely behind, according to accommodation search data for arrival dates between April 4-7.

The Vietnamese commemorate their ancestors’ death anniversaries on the tenth day of the third lunar month, which corresponds to Monday, April 7 this year. Consequently, citizens will be granted a three-day holiday encompassing the upcoming weekend.

The dry season in Phu Quoc lasts from November through April, providing sunny conditions perfect for enjoying outdoor beach activities.

Last year, Phu Quoc was ranked as the world's second most beautiful island by an American publication. Travel + Leisure , after Maldives.

In the initial two months of this year, the island received 1.4 million visitors, with 320,888 being foreign travelers, which represents a 52.7% rise compared to the same period last year.
