National Gallery of Zimbabwe Set to Showcase 80 Photographic Masterpieces

Starting May 30, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe will host "Portraits of Zimbabwe," an exhibit featuring more than 80 photographic prints by the late photographer Chicago Dzviti. The portraits of Zimbabwe have been brought about through the support of the U.S. Embassy. The exhibit will be jointly curated by Jennifer Kyker, who holds dual positions as an associate professor of ethnomusicology at the Eastman School of Music and as an associate professor of music in the College Music Department at the University of Rochester, along with Fadzai Muchemwa, the curator of contemporary art at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. Dzviti was born in Shamva in 1961, and from this rustic background, he cultivated an interest in photography. He further honed his skills at Harare Polytechnic starting in 1987. This initiated a career spanning nearly ten years, notable for vividly portraying various aspects of Zimbabwean life. The narrative captured societal norms,...

Looking for a Driver That's Easy to Hit? Check Out These Ultra-Forgiving Models on the 2025 Hot List

Forgiveness has become a popular term among golfers nowadays. Often accompanied by technical jargon such as moment of inertia (MOI) and center of gravity, along with measurements in units like grams-centimeters squared; despite being able to quantify specific characteristics of a clubhead using these metrics, figures may occasionally be exaggerated to an extent that causes misunderstanding and misinterpretation. To make things crystal clear, we've assessed the MOI for each driver featured on our current year's Hot List. The MOI typically serves as an indicator of forgiveness. You'll find this measurement included alongside the details of each club listed. )

However, we believe there’s a more intuitive way to evaluate how forgiving a club is. Introducing our method: Vector rating For Forgiveness. During the Hot List testing when we request our players to evaluate each driver’s performance, one crucial aspect they focus on is "Forgiveness." Our aim is to gauge how effortlessly a club can be struck by the player. We encourage them to ponder these queries:

  • What is happening on your mis-hits?
  • Is the ball unexpectedly veering off course?
  • Do your less powerful shots still receive rewards?
  • Does the degree of forgiveness inspire confidence?
  • How easy is it to launch the ball on a good trajectory?

Here are the five drivers that scored the highest in our Forgiveness rating:

false Callaway Elyte X $600 | Golf Galaxy 5.0 GD SCORE GD HOT LIST SCORE Hot List Gold $600 The largest clubhead in the family improves mis-hits for golfers who tend to cut across the ball with an open face. The face of the club favors draws and features two adjustable weight ports around the perimeter, allowing golfers to fine-tune their draw even further. It has the highest measured moment of inertia (stability on off-center hits) of any Elyte model. A heavier optional screw can increase the head’s overall MOI to 10,000, placing it among the leaders in the market. The innovative face with varying thickness leverages AI analysis of numerous swings to more accurately cater to the performance requirements of such players. The enhanced head shape incorporates smoother curves for less drag without sacrificing forgiveness or excessively increasing spin. The flexible framework and adjustable thickness design enhance accuracy over long distances. A thermo-forged carbon crown reduces weight, which is strategically placed lower down to minimize spin. MOI Rating: EXTREME 9, 10.5, 12 degrees (with an eight-position adjustable hosel) BUY NOW DETAILS false Cobra DS-Adapt Max-K $550 | Golf Galaxy 5.0 GD SCORE GD HOT LIST SCORE Hot List Gold $550 Reduces misalignments using the biggest head size within the series along with substantial internal weighting at the back edge. The club's stability when struck off-center (its moment of inertia) is very close to the USGA limit and surpasses any previous offerings from Cobra. A 10-gram weight at the back edge lowers the center of gravity due to the machined aluminum casing. Slim sheets of carbon fiber substitute for a significant portion of the clubhead’s top and bottom sections to reduce mass, which is then strategically positioned towards the rear for increased steadiness during swings. The adaptable hosel offers 33 different positions to adjust your ball trajectory for hitting low, high, left, or right shots. The design of the face includes varying thicknesses spread over 15 different zones to ensure more uniform speed when contacting the ball. MOI Rating: EXTREME 9, 10.5, 12 degrees (featuring a 33-position adjustable hosel) BUY NOW DETAILS false Ping G440 Max $650 | Golf Galaxy 5.0 GD SCORE GD HOT LIST SCORE Hot List Gold $650 The most forgiving model in the G440 lineup features fast ball speeds across a wider area of the face. A redesigned interior portion of the hosel creates room for that area of the face to flex better while lowering the center of gravity. A carbon-composite piece wraps into the back half of the crown to save mass that is then converted into a 29-gram adjustable weight in the rear perimeter that allows for neutral, draw or fade positions. The lowest center of gravity in Ping’s history sends off shots with reduced spin compared to earlier models, minimizing loss of distance. The thin, flexible titanium alloy face enhances ball speed over a larger region. The smaller dimensions of the entire head lead to a more compact appearance when addressing the ball and produce a fuller striking noise upon contact. The shaft's standard length has been extended to 46 inches to increase the possible swing velocity. MOI Rating: EXTREME Top 5 in Performance for Middle- and High-Handicaps 9, 10.5, 12 degrees (with an eight-position adjustable hosel) BUY NOW DETAILS false TaylorMade Qi35 Max $600 | Golf Galaxy 5.0 GD SCORE GD HOT LIST SCORE Hot List Gold $600 The largest address profile in the lineup is also the one that offers the greatest forgiveness along with the highest launch. A 34-gram tungsten weight at the rear ensures optimal balance during off-center strikes. The new internal weighting leads to a minor drawing tendency, while the lowered and shifted-forward center of gravity reduces backspin and enhances energy transfer efficiency. Slightly lighter than last year’s Qi10 Max, it still pushes total MOI (stability on off-center hits) to the highest in company history and among the highest in the industry. A longer stock shaft boosts possible swing velocity. The company’s carbon-fiber face remains the only one in the industry, and compared to the Qi10, this fourth generation features a thicker perimeter and thinner center for more consistent spring across a wider area. A revamped slot in the shoe's bottom enhances how the hitting surface bends. Unique identifiers incorporated into the design of the club fitting models assist launch monitors in tracking the head for increased accuracy in data collection. Carbon infused with chromium runs along the top of the clubhead for improved weight reduction, and a white line above the striking surface ensures the face angle is easily discernible at setup. MOI Rating: EXTREME Top 5 for forgiveness with mid-range handicaps 9, 10.5, 12 degrees (featuring a 12-position adjustable hosel) BUY NOW DETAILS false Tour Edge Exotics E725 $400 | Golf Galaxy 4.0 GD SCORE GD HOT LIST SCORE Hot List Silver $400 The extremely large design tackles off-center hits with the greatest recorded stability (moment of inertia) ever achieved by the company, measuring up to 10,000 MOI. An 18-gram adjustable weight at the back allows golfers to configure the clubhead for draws, fades, or neutral trajectories. Lines with a crisscross pattern forming diamond shapes on the rear part of the face enhance bounce over a larger region. The diamond design includes 61 patterns and seven varying thickness levels, with the heel and toe areas being more slender compared to previous iterations for better handling of poor hits. The top section is currently covered with twenty-two percent additional carbon fiber. The reduced mass has been relocated to the edges to enhance steadiness. A ridge runs along the rear perimeter to further stabilize the entire frame and direct more energy to the way the face flexes, particularly on off-center hits. A channel toward the front of the sole gives ball speed a boost, particularly on impacts low on the face. Additional weights (up to 28 grams) allow the user to adjust for swing weight and feel. MOI Rating: EXTREME Top 5 in Performance, middle-handicaps 9, 10.5, 12 degrees (adjustable plus/minus 2 degrees) BUY NOW DETAILS
