National Gallery of Zimbabwe Set to Showcase 80 Photographic Masterpieces

Starting May 30, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe will host "Portraits of Zimbabwe," an exhibit featuring more than 80 photographic prints by the late photographer Chicago Dzviti. The portraits of Zimbabwe have been brought about through the support of the U.S. Embassy. The exhibit will be jointly curated by Jennifer Kyker, who holds dual positions as an associate professor of ethnomusicology at the Eastman School of Music and as an associate professor of music in the College Music Department at the University of Rochester, along with Fadzai Muchemwa, the curator of contemporary art at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. FBI Director Kash Patel warned the U.S. needs to be 'more vigilant' about what is coming in across the Canadian border as adversaries have 'adapted.'

The leading law enforcement official asserted this during their testimony to legislators with the House Intelligence Committee regarding international threats on Wednesday.

'The flow of known and suspected terrorists into our country is greater via our northern border compared to our southern border,' Patel cautioned.

He credited it to the 'achievements we have made in sealing off our southern border.'

When Patel was responding to questions posed by Congressman Greg Steube, he admitted this during their discussion about the influx of fentanyl crossing into the United States through borders.

During another part of the hearing, Patel stated that known and suspected terrorists are entering through the southern border 'less frequently.'

He said there have been two known or suspected terrorists apprehended at the southern border since January 20th when Trump took office.

"They are appearing more frequently along the northern border, and since January 20th, that count has reached 34," Patel stated.

'And those metrics have carried out  over the last year in terms of ratio,' the FBI director continued.

He stated that this suggests 'those who aim to cause the greatest damage to this nation are exploiting the northern border.'

Patel stated that the U.S. should redirect resources towards the Canadian border.

During the hearing, the FBI director admitted that the two greatest threats to the United States come from China and Russia.

'The adversary adjusts,' Patel stated.

He warned that U.S. adversaries such as China, Russia and Iran have stopped using the southern border all together.

But he said they have shifted their focus and resources to the northern border as the Trump administration cracks down on the border with Mexico.
